Sims 1

This is a list of all The Sims (or The Sims 1 as we often call it these days) expansion packs – listed in order.

The Sims was released for Windows on February 4, 2000.

Seven total expansion packs and several deluxe editions and compilations were released for the game over the next four years. This is the fewest number of expansions for any of The Sims games, but (in my opinion) they were some of the best ever made.

Release Order

  1. The Sims: Livin’ Large (August 27, 2000)
  2. The Sims: House Party (March 28, 2001)
  3. The Sims: Hot Date (November 14, 2001)
  4. The Sims: Vacation (March 25, 2002)
  5. The Sims: Unleashed (September 23, 2002)
  6. The Sims: Superstar (May 12, 2003)
  7. The Sims: Makin’ Magic (October 28, 2003)

The game stayed on a predictable schedule of releasing expansions twice a year – once in spring and once in fall. In 2004, the highly anticipated sequel to this best-selling game was released – The Sims 2.

Deluxe Editions

  • The Sims: Deluxe Edition (October 04, 2002)
  • The Sims: Double Deluxe (October 10, 2003)
  • The Sims: Mega Deluxe (October 25, 2004)
  • The Sims: Triple Deluxe (June 18, 2004)
  • The Sims: Complete Collection (November 01, 2005)

These deluxe editions contained The Sims Base Game plus at least one expansion pack and sometimes exclusive bonus content as a reward for buying the bundle.

The Sims: Deluxe Edition

Includes the base game plus the Livin Large’ expansion pack. Also includes some exclusive content found only in this compilation (25+ objects and 50+ clothes).

The Sims: Double Deluxe

Includes the base game plus the Livin’ Large and House Party expansion packs. Also includes a bonus disc containing exclusive African and Asian-themed skins, objects, walls and floors. This was the first stuff pack prototype for The Sims.

The Sims: Mega Deluxe

Sims 1

Includes the base game plus the Livin’ Large, House Party, and Hot Date expansion packs.

Sims

The Sims: Triple Deluxe

Includes the base game plus the Livin’ Large, House Party, and Vacation expansion packs. This edition was only available in Europe and the expansion pack names were slightly different. Livin’ Large was called “Livin’ it Up,” and Vacation was called “On Holiday.”

The Sims: Ultimate Collection

Just like it sounds, this compilation includes The Sims base game and ALL expansion packs. This was the last edition released for The Sims.

There were also numerous other expansion pack bundles released over the years that contained between one and three expansions each (and no exclusive content).

The Sims had no official stuff packs, as these were introduced in The Sims 2. In the beginning, we only had expansions. It wasn’t until The Sims 4 that we started seeing new types of packs (game packs, kits) besides the traditional expansion and stuff packs.

Although EA no longer supports or sells the original Sims game, you can still purchase the expansions for yourself.

I bought the entire collection of games on Ebay and it cost me less than $80. I wanted Pristine condition with complete boxes, but you can often find slim cases much cheaper.

You may have to watch and wait for good deals, but dozens of copies are usually for sale. I would advise NEVER paying for a digital version of The Sims 1. There are no legal digital versions in existence, so you may get scammed.

PS. If made a video unboxing my collection of The Sims 1 and all expansion packs that I got from eBay if you want to experience the nostalgia without buying them yourself.

Here are all the objects I made for Sims 1 (The Sims), the original Sims game. Click on the pictures below to access each category.
I love hacks, so many of my objects are heavily hacked. Be sure to read the object description to see their function and EP requirements! I also love making custom animations, custom food, and custom sounds. Follow any special instructions in the description for the object to work properly.
