About 20 years ago, the second installment in the real-time strategy (RTS) Age of Empires series was released for PC. Developed by Ensemble Studios and published by Microsoft, Age of Empires II. Jun 25, 2021 Age of Empires II is the 2nd game of the Age of Empires series. Besides the original version, which was released for Windows in October 1999, an HD Edition (2013) and a Definitive Edition (2019) have been released. There also has been a popular user mod called WololoKingdoms, allowing to play the game via the client Voobly. Age of Empires 2 is being wheeled out again, not quite new, but definitely improved. It wears its two decades well, but the years are still there, hidden beneath polish and new art and myriad tweaks.
